Initial Consultation

I am currently providing in-person therapy in Albany, CA and on-line therapy appointments approximately 50 minutes long. As a new client, I will ask you to:

  • Complete introductory forms online before our initial consultation
  • I will email you a welcome message with a link to a patient portal that gives you access to the forms and information you need for our first appointment

The first session involves an evaluation of the issues bringing you to therapy at this time, previous therapy experience, and your goals for treatment, as well as to determine if my approach and manner are a good fit for you.

Payment and Insurance

Please contact me at vanessa@drvanessalowe.com about my fees.  I ask that you pay me by credit card. Before the initial appointment, I will send you a link to a patient portal in which you may set up credit card payments.  I do not accept insurance and I am considered an out-of-network provider.  If you would like to receive partial reimbursement from your insurance company, please confirm your benefits before our first meeting.  I will provide you with monthly superbills that will include your payments and other information required by insurance. I ask that you submit the superbills to your insurance.  

Cancellations

If you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, I ask that you do so at least 48 hours before your appointment time.  If you are not able to provide 48 hours’ notice, you may be charged the full fee for your appointment.
