About Dr. Vanessa Lowe
I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY19890) in California, specializing in the treatment of anxiety and stress.
Originally from New York, I completed my undergraduate degree at Brandeis University (Magna Cum Laude), and my doctoral degree at the University of Denver, Graduate School of Professional Psychology in 1998. My pre-doctoral internship was completed at the Denver Veterans Administration Medical Center and at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center, Anxiety and Mood Disorders Clinic. After completing my internship, I was hired at both sites, where I completed my post doctoral training.
I continue my education and training as a clinician by attending workshops, participating in ongoing consultation groups, and being a member of multiple professional organizations.
In addition to my work as a psychologist, I have spent decades doing creative work as a performing musician, and for the past 10+ years as a radio/podcast producer, focusing more or less on each area at various times. Flexibility, personal challenge, and creative expression are guiding values in my own life.
I have training and experience in the treatment of anxiety and stress, including panic disorder, social anxiety, OCD, health anxiety, phobias, and worry, as well as depression. Given my own varied and blended careers, I also enjoy working with people in creative fields, those considering job changes or shifts, as well as those who seek to push beyond traditional career paths.
